CAREER TRANSACTIONS:
-Selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the first round (2nd pick after Shaquille O’ Neal) of the 1992 NBA Draft.
-Traded by the Hornets with Pete Myers and LeRon Ellis to the Miami Heat for Glen Rice, Matt Geiger, Khalid Reeves, and a 1996 first round draft pick on 11/3/95.

PERSONAL NOTES:
-Alonzo and his wife, Tracy, have two children. Their son, Trey, is 4. Their daughter, Myka Sydney, was born in late September, 2000.
-Was diagnosed with Focal Glomerulosclerosis (kidney disease) in October 2000 and is sitting out this season.
-Had a cereal called "Zo's O's", which looked and tasted just like Cheerios.
-Alonzo launched “Zo's Summer Groove”, a weekend event that takes place each summer. It includes a charity banquet, concert and celebrity basketball game. It benefits The Children's Home Society and 100 Black Men of South Florida.
-Zo is the NBA's national spokesman for the prevention of child abuse and is a big part of the NBA's Healthy Family America program.
-For each blocked shot, he donates $100 to the Children's Home Society and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
-He received a degree in Sociology from Georgetown.
-In 1994, Alonzo traveled on the NBA South Africa Tour with his friends Dikembe Mutombo and Patrick Ewing to do clinics, PSA's, and school visits.
